• Associate’s degree in nursing is required. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience preferred. At least three years of orthopedic, medical/surgical, or ICU experience is preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of Arizona or obtained within 90 days of hire required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or obtained within 90 days of hire.

• Deliver exceptional, evidence‑based nursing care that promotes patient safety, healing, and satisfaction from admission to discharge.
• Support patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and procedures, with a focus on pain management, mobility, and safe recovery.
• Monitor, assess, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations, discharge planning, and long‑term wellness.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and open communication to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

• Use the nursing process including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe and effective outcomes.
• Administer and chart medications as ordered by physician, reinforce and clarify physician instructions, and explain procedures to patient and companion.
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for the position in the medical/surgical unit. Patient care duties include providing care in emergency situations and based on age‑specific needs utilizing a development perspective.
• Maintain and evaluate own clinical expertise and practice, demonstrating the importance of continuing education for performance of facility responsibilities and professional growth.
• Conduct quality review audits as assigned by manager or designee, applying principles and tools learned during CQI training on a daily basis.
• Maintain flexibility with scheduling and job assignments to cover patient needs; ability to work in multiple perioperative areas.
• Foster a positive and professional hospital environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.
• Participate in committees, work groups, and meetings as deemed necessary. Demonstrate measurable results, meet target dates, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and take part in shared leadership.
• Complete required competencies for the position, obtain laboratory specimens, EKG, radiology studies requested by physician as per policy.
• Utilize individual goals and quality models to measure and report on performance improvement.
