OverviewPhoenix Medical Psychiatric Hospital, a member of the Neuro Psychiatric Hospital family, is looking for a Director of Nursing (RN) to serve our patients and hospital leadership team. The Director of Nursing (RN) will oversee the hospital's nursing department and daily oversight of program policies, procedures, and guidelines.

- Oversee the nursing staff and the processes of the units.
- Responsible for creating, developing, and implementing the strategic plan for areas of responsibility, consistent with the organization’s strategic plan.
- Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and implemented effectively throughout areas of responsibility in accordance with the organization’s policy.
- Take an important role during all regulatory surveys and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Actively participate in PI committee meetings and report data.
- Plan, organize, and control all aspects of risk management activities. Ensure a safe environment for the protection of patients, clients, employees, and visitors in compliance with laws, regulations, and accrediting agency standards.
- Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and continuous improvement of nursing services to maintain standards of patient care in compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures and State Licensing and Joint Commission requirements.
- Ensure staffing is adequate for areas of responsibility to provide quality care and patient safety.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor’s of Health Administration from an accredited college or university. Master of Science in Nursing or a Master’s of Health Administration preferred.
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in acute psychiatric, mental health, medical‑surgical, or emergency department settings required.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing management or leadership experience required.
- Previous experience in addiction or psychiatric care highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, State, and CMS requirements.
