The Part-Time Teen Specialist is responsible for developing programs, activities, and services that prepare youth and teens for success by creating a safe and positive Club environment that facilitates achievement and results in designated outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
Club operations, program management, and supervision of members.
Ensure s the safety and security of staff, members, volunteers, facility, and Club assets
Supports annual recruitment, member retention, and attendance goals
Supports collaborative relationships with community partners, Middle Schools and High Schools
Open s and close s the Club; provide direct supervision during operating hours
Lead s and implement s planning, development, and evaluation of Club programs and services to ensure they meet priority outcomes and member needs
Promote s and stimulate s members interest and participation in Club-wide programs, including support for Middle School programming that creates a pathway for teen program involvement
Track s teen attendance and participation data
Maintain s productive and effective working relationships with parents, organization staff and management in accomplishing goals and objectives
Foster s supportive and healthy interactions for members and develop a Club culture that includes physical and emotional safety, respect, inclusion, and free of bullying
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and 6 youth development or related experience
Must obtain/ maintain a current CPR & First Aid certification (within first 90 days of employment)
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license
Working knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies and procedures
Ability to oversee the physical property and assets of the Club
Knowledge of vehicles to ensure that they are always operating safely
Knowledge of Youth Development service delivery
Ability to maintain and cultivate excellent member/family and community relationships and possess excellent customer service skills
Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Familiarity with principles and practices of supervision
Ability to communicate with parents, maintain confidentiality and engage in respectful interactions
Ability to articulate for giving, serve as an ambassador, engage in relationship building and promote philanthropy
Ability to support the efficiency of Volunteers and future workforce needs to support volunteer program operations
Travel between BGCAZ Branches, schools and community sites is required. Must meet the insurance standards of BGC.
Work is performed in Branches and the community
Evening or weekend hours required on an as needed basis
