Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager, Events

What you’ll do:

The Senior Marketing Manager, Events is a senior leader within the marketing organization, responsible for the strategic development, execution, and optimization of high‑impact internal and external marketing events for Western Alliance Bank. This role partners closely with the Marketing Director and senior business leaders to design and deliver sophisticated event programs that support brand positioning, client acquisition, relationship expansion, and revenue growth across numerous key business lines across the company.

The role interfaces extensively with internal executive leadership and external C‑suite audiences (CEOs, CFOs, Founders, and Investors). The ideal candidate brings deep expertise leading complex, multi‑day, high‑touch events and executive programs, demonstrates exceptional operational rigor, and operates comfortably as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders.

Strategic Event Leadership
  • Own the strategy, planning, and execution of a national portfolio of marketing events, including executive dinners, sponsorship activations, sporting tickets, multi‑day client retreats, leadership conferences, and virtual/hybrid programs.
  • Serve as the senior event lead from concept through post‑event analysis, ensuring alignment with business objectives, brand standards, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Help oversee the bank's annual Senior Leadership Conference, including agenda development, executive communications, vendor management, and on‑site execution.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner directly with senior executives, relationship managers, and business line leaders to design event experiences that support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, translating business goals into impactful event strategies.
  • Represent the bank at select external events, industry conferences, and community initiatives to enhance brand visibility and strengthen key relationships.
Program & Project Management
  • Lead multiple concurrent event programs with complex timelines, budgets, and cross‑functional dependencies.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, communication cadences, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure flawless execution.
  • Maintain ownership of event budgets, forecasting, reconciliation, and reporting; proactively manage costs and communicate status to stakeholders.
Vendor, Venue & Logistics Oversight
  • Oversee all aspects of venue and vendor selection and negotiation, including hotels, production partners, AV, catering, security, transportation, and shipping.
  • Lead site inspections and oversee detailed logistics including room setups, diagrams, F&B planning, speaker coordination, and attendee experience.
  • Provide hands‑on, on‑site leadership and decision‑making support during live events.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and oversight to marketing or event staff, contractors, or agency partners as assigned.
Content, Branding & Experience Design
  • Coordinate development and production of all event‑related collateral, including agendas, conference guides, signage, digital assets, gifting, and room drops.
  • Partner with internal brand team and external vendors to ensure a consistent, premium brand experience across all touchpoints.
  • Ensure content, programming, and experiences are tailored to senior‑level audiences.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Define and track meaningful event metrics, including attendance quality, engagement, satisfaction, and ROI within CRM.
  • Develop post‑event reporting and insights to demonstrate value and inform future strategy.
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive research to ensure event positioning remains differentiated and relevant.
What you’ll need:
  • High School Diploma required;
    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, event marketing, or experiential programs, with demonstrated ownership of large‑scale, high‑visibility events.
