Location:

Phoenix, AZ. This is an on‑site role; remote work is not available.

The Marketing Director is responsible for establishing unified marketing systems, managing campaign execution, and ensuring strong alignment between brand, creative, retail, and production across all markets. This role creates structure, drives consistency, and builds a forward‑looking marketing engine that supports product launches, merchandising, community engagement, and digital presence.

Responsibilities
  • Campaigns
    • Create, manage and drive marketing campaigns, both big and small.
    • Coordinate marketing campaigns across all markets with consistent timing and messaging.
    • Maintain a proactive marketing calendar tied to launches, promotions, and brand initiatives.
  • Launches
    • Structure new product introductions with assets, messaging, timelines, and retail alignment.
    • Forecast promotions and specials in advance to support inventory and production.
    • Support market research into product placement and viability.
  • Retail
    • Influence store forecasts to align marketing, inventory, and production.
    • Drive register‑level marketing and store blitzes.
    • Oversee merchandising health, including tools, signage, displays, and upkeep.
    • Audit store performance and partner with retail teams to strengthen execution.
  • Digital
    • Manage ecommerce and email strategies, including auditing, reporting, and optimization.
    • Guide digital storytelling, consumer engagement, and brand visibility.
  • Creative
    • Build structure around creative pipelines, timelines, and asset development to support the graphic design team.
    • Coordinate regional creative resources for shared use of campaigns, assets, and data.
    • Guide initiatives such as packaging transitions, collectibles, merch, and exclusive product drops.
  • Experiential
    • Support programs including art competitions, murals, collaborations, and community‑focused activations.
    • Develop initiatives that deepen community connection and amplify brand identity.
  • Leadership
    • Build and lead the marketing operations team, including coordinators and designers.
    • Manage contractor relationships for installations, specialty creative, and overflow needs.
    • Establish processes and communication frameworks that connect marketing with production, sales, and operations.
  • Outcomes
    • Define and report on KPIs that can be utilized in the company’s Sales and Operations Planning motions.
    • Ensure consistent brand presence across all channels and markets.
    • Maintain a reliable cadence of campaigns, launches, and exclusives.
    • Strengthen communication loops with retail and production.
    • Increase consumer loyalty through storytelling and experiences.
    • Improve merchandising and store‑level visibility.
    • Unify marketing rhythm that supports multi‑state scalability.
Qualifications
  • Experience in progressive marketing leadership within consumer brands, CPG, manufacturing or multi‑market retail.
  • Deep fluency in cannabis production and market dynamics.
  • Strong cross‑functional communicator able to partner seamlessly with product design, operations, retail, sales, and finance.
  • Proven success leading integrated marketing across multiple regions or business units.
  • Demonstrated experience managing creative, brand, digital, retail and product marketing under one unified strategy.
  • Track record of building and scaling marketing operations, calendars, and cross‑functional processes.
  • Expertise in marketing operations: briefs, workflows, calendars, checkpoints, asset delivery and ROI measurement.
  • Comfortable managing large, complex timelines with multiple markets, vendors and partners.
  • Experience working with external agencies, creative partners, cultural collaborators and vendor networks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of cannabis production cycles and of the Arizona cannabis market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Brand Management or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be 21 years of age and consent to a criminal background check conducted by the Arizona Department of Health Services under A.R.S. 36‑2801.10 and 36‑2804.01.
  • Valid Arizona State‑Issued .
