Summary
The primary function of the Anodize Supervisor is to plan and coordinate the activities of all department personnel and to evaluate, document, and improve departmental (Anodize/ENP) processes and services.
Job Duties
- Confer with management to enforce safety/sanitation regulations or resolve worker problems, complaints, and grievances.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Confer with other department supervisors and Program Managers to ensure on-time delivery for orders that require departmental services.
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced personnel.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in Anodize operations, such as Rackers, Masking Technicians, Operators, Process Helpers, and other department personnel.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine daily/monthly production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals and Target Dates.
- Manage & requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or equipment repair services.
- Defines, measures, and monitors indicators to ensure continuous improvement in department performance and efficiency (i.e. Sales/Labor Hour, Units Masked/Labor Hour, Escape PPM, Contribution Margin, etc.).
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for department personnel.
- Recommend personnel actions, such as hiring, merit increases, and promotions.
- Monitoring employee attendance, quality of work, and productivity
- Follow and enforce company procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and OSHA Program
- Maintain operational data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results including winners & losers.
- Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
- Continuously improve department performance by developing new production processes and procedures.
- Experience in formulating production policies and developing/implementing performance improvement strategies and procedures utilizing Six Sigma techniques. Ability to develop teams and manage multiple projects and resources. Strong analytical and problem solving skills while utilizing software solutions. Technical knowledge of metal finishing processes and techniques. Ability to develop and deliver presentations to all levels of an organization.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of business and to work effectively with a wide range of internal/external customers. Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects. Producing enduring, cost-effective solutions to business problems.
- Five years minimum of operations and hands-on metal finishing supervisory experience. Extensive knowledge of aerospace blueprint requirements and ability to calculate tank times based on part size and rack configuration. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to alternate standing and sitting for 8 hours.
- Ability to see or correct to 20/20.
- Ability to hear.
- Ability to distinguish color (pass a colorblind test).
- Ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms.
- Ability to stoop and bend.
- Ability to use arms and hands.
