Manual Lathe Duties
- Reviews drawings, instructions, shop travelers to determine required set up
- Performs manual set up, problem solves any constraints.
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
- Maintains production standards and quality requirements
- Adheres to the corporate code of conduct
- Compliance to IPM/QPM and ISO standards
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and requirements
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in math
- Basic computer skills
- Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Provides accurate feedback to the department supervisor
- Lean skills always driving and suggesting improvements
- Team player
- Must be fluent in English, speaking, reading and writing
- High school degree or equivalent
- Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
- Working knowledge of safety protocols
- Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
