As a General Laborer at Z-Modular, Zekelman Industries, you will support field construction activities by assisting with site maintenance, material movement, and the assembly of modular building components. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, follows instructions with precision, and thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
What You’ll Do- Operate and maintain tools and equipment to support installation, assembly, and repair tasks.
- Install and assemble components and fixtures according to project specifications.
- Conduct routine site maintenance and janitorial tasks to promote cleanliness and safety.
- Identify and resolve basic issues during construction processes.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain high‑quality standards.
- Follow detailed instructions and plans to complete tasks accurately.
- Communicate progress, material needs, and issues to supervisors or management.
- Manage time effectively to achieve project goals.
- Promote and follow safe work practices in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain consistent, full‑time onsite attendance to support project needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment with hands‑on assembly or construction work.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools and mobile equipment preferred.
- Experience in modular construction or prefabrication is a plus.
- Combination of education and experience demonstrating proficiency in essential job functions.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in production or construction environments.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Understanding of construction procedures.
- Attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to safety awareness and adherence to construction safety standards.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Strong balance, hand‑eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to meet visual and auditory acuity requirements.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Base hourly rate: $20.00 USD (good‑faith estimate – offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance)
