Night Shift Overview

Night Shift (20% night shift pay differential)

/ OD Grind
Setup and operate grinding machines to produce parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications for aerospace applications. Manual and CNC grinders.

: 3617 E La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040

• Setup and operate grinding equipment to produce high-precision aerospace components on ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Ability to setup and grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. onto surfaces
• Complete all required paperwork properly — inspection reports, SPC, job travelers, etc.
• Ability to hold tolerances of .0002” – .0005” while maintaining a high level of productivity
• Able to work independently and stay on task — operate 2 machines regularly
• Ability to problem solve and communicate process improvement suggestions with management

• Familiarity with Toyoda, Okamoto, Kellenberger grinders;
  Heald experience a plus
• Proficient with standard inspection equipment — Indicating Micrometers, Bore Gages, Sunnen Gage, and Test Indicators
• Read and interpret blueprints including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, GD&T, and related standards
• Experience in grinding holding tolerances of .0002” – .0005”
• Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willing to learn
• General knowledge of standard shop practices and equipment

• High School or GED
• CNC experience preferred but not required
• 5+ years /OD grinding experience preferred; willing to train lathe or mill machinist to grow in one of the valley’s most complete grind departments
