Night Shift Overview
Night Shift (20% night shift pay differential)
/ OD Grind
Setup and operate grinding machines to produce parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications for aerospace applications. Manual and CNC grinders.
Location
: 3617 E La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040
- Setup and operate grinding equipment to produce high-precision aerospace components on ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Ability to setup and grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. onto surfaces
- Complete all required paperwork properly — inspection reports, SPC, job travelers, etc.
- Ability to hold tolerances of .0002” – .0005” while maintaining a high level of productivity
- Able to work independently and stay on task — operate 2 machines regularly
- Ability to problem solve and communicate process improvement suggestions with management
- Familiarity with Toyoda, Okamoto, Kellenberger grinders;
Heald experience a plus - Proficient with standard inspection equipment — Indicating Micrometers, Bore Gages, Sunnen Gage, and Test Indicators
- Read and interpret blueprints including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, GD&T, and related standards
- Experience in grinding holding tolerances of .0002” – .0005”
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willing to learn
- General knowledge of standard shop practices and equipment
- High School or GED
- CNC experience preferred but not required
- 5+ years /OD grinding experience preferred; willing to train lathe or mill machinist to grow in one of the valley’s most complete grind departments
