Overview
The Aggregate Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an aggregate production facility, including safety, production, maintenance, quality control, and personnel management. This role ensures efficient and cost-effective operations while maintaining compliance with all company, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Roles & Responsibilities- Lead and manage all aspects of the plant’s production, including scheduling, equipment operation, and maintenance planning.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and MSHA regulations; promote a strong safety culture.
- Monitor plant performance and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce downtime.
- Oversee quality control of materials produced, ensuring products meet required specifications.
- Develop and manage operating budgets, control costs, and track key performance metrics.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate plant personnel to build a high-performing team.
- Coordinate with mobile equipment and maintenance teams for repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate production, inventory, and maintenance records.
- Support environmental compliance by ensuring adherence to all air, water, and waste regulations.
- Communicate regularly with company leadership regarding plant performance, needs, and opportunities for improvement.
- 5+ years of experience in aggregate, mining, or heavy industrial plant operations; supervisory experience required.
- Strong understanding of crushing, screening, and material handling processes.
- Working knowledge of MSHA safety regulations and environmental compliance standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with plant equipment and preventative maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (Excel, Outlook, production software).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Outdoor and industrial plant settings with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed, including weekends or nights during peak production.
