Job Overview

Accelerate the possible by joining a winning Amcor team that transforms the packaging industry. We are looking for an experienced Technical Group Leader to head our Production Team, ensuring all molding machines run at optimum speeds and produce quality parts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe working environment and complete accident/incident reports.
  • Oversee overall quality of department operations and work closely with Quality Assurance to guarantee quality parts.
  • Manage all aspects of production: machine performance, efficiencies, downtime, and quality.
  • Direct, train, and develop all technical team members and material handlers.
  • Enter production data into Web Eff.
  • Implement disciplinary action and related documentation.
  • Maintain department housekeeping and orderliness.
  • Determine appropriate internal and external assistance for the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Molding Manager.
  • Adhere to GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements.
  • Know and apply the Quality Policy in working practices.
  • Engage with a team environment, helping others as needed.
  • Own safety accountability for all employees under your supervision.
  • Investigate line/equipment stoppage due to safety risks.
  • Complete responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Lead risk assessment activities and drive corrective actions to eliminate or reduce hazards.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees.
  • Set and achieve goals for the organization unit.
  • Motivate and coach employees through communication and performance feedback.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise daily activities of all production and technical hourly employees in the Molding Department, training, assigning work, appraising performance, disciplining, and resolving complaints.

Education and Experience

Three to five years of previous supervisory, quality, and/or injection molding experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence. Spanish speaking is a plus.

Mathematical Skills

Perform basic arithmetic, calculate rates and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from technical instructions.

Physical Demands

Stand, use hands, climb, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds. Visual, hearing and taste requirements included.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving machinery, fumes, heat, chemicals, and loud noise common in a manufacturing plant.

Job Type

Full-time; 12‑hour day shift (6:30 AM‑7 PM) or 12‑hour night shift (6:30 PM‑7 AM) with night shift differential and bi‑annual bonus compensation.
