As a Production Operator at Avient, you will set up and operate equipment to blend, mix or transport chemicals that produce our customer products, ensuring high quality and cost efficiency. You will also maintain equipment, perform quality control, record data and support the company’s vision and principles while adhering to safety and regulatory rules.
Compensation & Benefits- Pay: $19+ depending on experience
- Hours:
10:00 pm – 6:30 am, Sunday–Thursday - Competitive compensation including a bi‑annual bonus plan

- Set up, start and run all machinery
- Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specifications and insert into machinery, or ensure correct ingredients are delivered and pre‑blended materials are inserted
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, troubleshoot equipment and processing issues
- Operate machinery to mix, extrude/discharge or handle materials
- Take samples of materials to the lab for evaluation and follow any batch adjustments if needed
- Perform all required machine cleaning
- Document work completed as required, including logs, data reports and procedures
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent training & experience
- Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
- Mathematical skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, using conversions, and working with different units (weight, volume, density, distance, etc.)
- Requires standing and sitting for extended periods
- Must be able to walk and use hands; occasionally bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
- May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 lb
- Must be able to communicate and understand work instructions in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where noise levels are loud
- Must detect and discern safety alarms and respond accordingly
- Personal protective equipment required (safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection)
- Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine; may be exposed to extreme heat, humidity, dust or fumes
Final compensation within this range may vary based on factors such as background, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location of the position.
