Production Manager
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations to ensure the efficient and safe production of high‑quality corn, flour, and fried products. Duties include supervising production teams, managing stock levels, upholding quality standards, and cultivating a positive work environment. Additionally, the role entails effective communication across all levels, strict adherence to safety protocols, and active support for food safety and quality programs.
Job Responsibilities- Supervises the daily production team by confirming, delegating, coordinating, and informing the crew about order processing.
- Responsible for producing corn, flour, and fried products within specified quality requirements.
- Maintains adequate stock levels to ensure sufficient production of corn and flour products.
- Ensures all quality specifications are followed and issues corrective actions for non‑conforming products.
- Communicates any issues during the shift at all levels, as appropriate (e.g., production orders, safety hazards, etc.).
- Reports to the Facilities Engineer about any damage, breaks, or missing parts that can slow down production or damage to the product.
- Assigns personnel to ensure the production of quality products.
- Maintains a positive, professional, and friendly attitude toward all employees.
- Orients and trains new employees in department‑related activities.
- Maintains operations in compliance with SOP, GMP, FDA, and other product quality standards.
- Monitors the baking process and tortilla appearance at all times.
- Follows production schedules as indicated.
- Proactively maintains a safe work environment.
- Investigates any safety accidents in a timely manner.
- Ensures a smooth transition between the first and second shifts by communicating the status of all equipment, batches, changeovers, staffing, quality alerts, and production schedule.
- Reviews employee punches and payroll issues with Human Resources.
- Strongly supports the Food Safety Program SQF and FSMA Programs.
- Disciplinary actions.
- Training.
- Authorization of employee hours for payroll.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must demonstrate openness to and practice cultural sensitivity, along with the ability to relate effectively with employees of diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
- AA/AS degree in Business Administration or Manufacturing.
- Position requires flexibility to work various shifts and hours, including holidays and weekends.
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold storage areas and hot production environments.
- Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
- Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
$70 – $80k annually paid on a bi‑weekly basis. (Weekends, Overtime and Holidays as needed)
