Job Description
The H2A workers will be loading and unloading containerized plants, shifting plants from one size container to a larger container, watering and weeding plants, or doing maintenance on the plants.
The forklift operator loads and unloads the trucks/trailers that are transporting the plants to the different ranches or fields; the employee is responsible to move the full carts that leave the germination room into the tunnels; the employee is responsible for unloading the trucks that arrive with peat moss (soil) and vermiculite that is used for the seeding; the employee is responsible to place pallets with trays, peat moss, vermiculite and all other items that are used to complete this task.
The employee must wear company provided protective gear at all times including dust mask, gloves and safety glasses.
The tractor operator drives and controls farm equipment to till, plant, cultivate, mow, and harvest crops. Many operations such as maintenance and repair require good physical ability and knowledge. Operators may ride equipment such as irrigation tape injectors and plastic mulch laying equipment. Harvest trailers, loading and unloading of seed, plants, materials and chemicals by hand or forklifts.
