About the Role
As an Aerospace AS9100 Materials Control Specialist, you’ll keep the right parts in the right place at the right time—every day. From the first inbound delivery scan at 8:00 AM to the final reconciliation before you clock out, your work ensures our teams can build with confidence and our records withstand AS9100 scrutiny.

You begin by receiving and verifying incoming materials against documentation—capturing quantities, lot and serial numbers, and condition. You label and route items to controlled storage using proper handling and environmental practices. Mid-morning, you update inventory transactions and prepare packing lists and bills of lading. After lunch, you support an internal AS9100 audit, retrieve records, and collaborate with Quality on a corrective action.
You wrap up with a cycle count, reconcile a discrepancy, communicate a shortage to Production, and stage materials for tomorrow’s builds.
- Receive, inspect, identify, label, and store materials in compliance with AS9100 requirements.
- Maintain precise records for inbound/outbound movement, including lot/serial traceability.
- Create and update handling documents: packing lists, bills of lading, inventory reports.
- Execute cycle counts, investigate variances, and report issues promptly.
- Apply proper storage, handling, and environmental controls to protect materials.
- Support AS9100 audits and inspections; supply documentation and follow up on nonconformances.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Quality to ensure timely material availability.
- Fulfill material requests and maintain smooth, accurate material flow.
- High school diploma or equivalent; AS9100 certification is required.
- Hands‑on experience as a Materials Handler (aerospace/manufacturing preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of AS9100 and daily application in materials operations.
- Strong organization and time management; accuracy and quality focus.
- Computer proficiency for inventory systems and documentation.
- Ability to safely lift/move heavy items and operate material handling equipment.
- Effective communicator and team collaborator.
- Familiarity with Lean/continuous improvement is a plus.
