Quality Control Manager

ICON Electric

Location: Phoenix, AZ (local travel to jobsites)
Reports To: President / Operations Leadership
Role Overview

ICON Electric is seeking a QA/QC Manager to standardize quality, improve consistency in field execution, and protect ICON's reputation as the business continues to grow. This is a hands-on, field-facing leadership role that partners closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field crews to ensure work is performed safely, compliantly, and right the first time.

This is not a desk-only position. The QA/QC Manager will be visible on jobsites, engaged early in project life cycles, and accountable for helping teams meet ICON's quality standards while reducing rework, inspection issues, and callbacks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, and enforce ICON's electrical QA/QC standards across all projects
  • Conduct regular jobsite audits and inspections to ensure compliance with NEC, project specifications, and customer requirements
  • Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to identify quality issues and drive timely corrective action
  • Lead root cause analysis for defects, failed inspections, rework, and recurring quality issues
  • Support inspection readiness and interface with AHJs, inspectors, and customers as needed
  • Develop and maintain QA/QC documentation, checklists, and reporting tools
  • Identify training gaps and collaborate with leadership on field training and development initiatives
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, safety, and craftsmanship across the organization
  • Serve as a technical and quality resource for field leadership and project teams
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical construction
  • Strong working knowledge of the NEC, electrical drawings, and installation best practices
  • Prior experience as a QA/QC Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, or Project Manager
  • Proven ability to work effectively with field teams and operational leadership
  • Comfortable addressing quality issues directly, professionally, and constructively
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel locally to jobsites
What Success Looks Like
  • Fewer inspection failures and callbacks
  • Reduced rework and quality-related schedule impacts
  • Clear, consistent quality expectations across all crews
  • Strong working relationships with field leadership, inspectors, and customers
  • Increased confidence in ICON's execution from both internal teams and clients
Why This Role Matters

As ICON Electric continues to grow, consistent execution and quality discipline are critical to scaling responsibly. This role exists to support the field-not slow it down-by providing clear standards, accountability, and practical guidance that enable teams to perform at a high level.
