About the RoleThe Senior Social Media Manager is a leadership position responsible for managing OMG's social media department operations and personnel. This role shares co-management responsibility with the Director of Client Strategy for supervising, developing, and directing two Social Media Account Managers. You will establish department standards, drive strategic vision, ensure quality control across all client accounts, and serve as the senior subject matter expert for social media strategy within the agency.
This position requires a proven leader who can balance hands‑on client work with team management, process development, and strategic planning. You will be responsible for your team's performance, professional development, workload distribution, and successful client outcomes while maintaining excellence in agency operations.
This is an in-person position based out of our office in north Phoenix, Arizona. Please do not apply if you are not able to work in the office five days a week.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management- Co-manage two Social Media Account Managers alongside the Director of Client Strategy
- Conduct weekly one-on-ones with direct reports to review performance, provide coaching, and address challenges
- Oversee workload distribution, project assignments, and capacity planning across the social media team
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of social media staff
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations of direct reports
- Mentor team members in strategic thinking, client management, and professional growth
- Resolve team conflicts and escalated client issues effectively
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture
- Set department standards for strategy development, content quality, and client deliverables
- Review and approve major strategic recommendations before client presentation
- Conduct quality audits of content calendars, client reports, and social media output
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and new revenue generation
- Lead development of social media best practices, playbooks, and standard operating procedures
- Stay ahead of industry trends and ensure team is trained on emerging platforms and tactics
- Represent the social media department in agency leadership discussions and planning sessions
- Collaborate with Director of Client Strategy on department goals, resource allocation, and strategic priorities
- Serve as senior point of contact for key accounts and escalated client situations
- Lead client strategy sessions and quarterly business reviews for top-tier accounts
- Identify and pursue upsell opportunities across the client portfolio
- Maintain high client satisfaction and retention rates
- Step in to manage critical client accounts as needed
- Ensure all client deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines
- Optimize workflows, processes, and systems for maximum efficiency
- Collaborate with creative team to establish smooth production processes
- Monitor team utilization and identify resource needs
- Maintain proficiency in Sprout Social, , and other agency tools
- Prepare department reports and insights for agency leadership
- Maintain active involvement in strategic planning and content development for select accounts
