This newly created Vice President Facilities Management & Capital Projects role will sit at the executive level and play a critical part in driving operational excellence, capital efficiency, and tenant satisfaction across a multi‑market portfolio.
Position OverviewThe Vice President will provide strategic leadership across facilities operations, engineering, and capital project delivery. This individual will oversee both day‑to‑day building performance and large‑scale tenant improvement and capital programs, partnering closely with property management, leasing, asset management, and senior leadership.
The role blends executive oversight with hands‑on ownership, making it ideal for a leader who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities- Capital Projects & Construction Leadership
- Lead all tenant improvement and capital projects from concept through completion.
- Oversee budgeting, scheduling, contractor selection, and contract negotiation.
- Partner with leasing and property teams on space planning, pricing, and delivery strategy.
- Ensure compliance with codes, permits, and safety regulations.
- Perform ROI and payback analysis for capital improvements and efficiency initiatives.
- Approve construction‑related purchasing, invoicing, and vendor agreements.
- Oversee building systems, preventive maintenance, and energy management programs.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operations across the portfolio.
- Lead, mentor, and develop internal engineering and facilities teams.
- Manage third‑party vendors and service contracts to performance and budget standards.
- Support tenant relations through responsive, service‑oriented operations.
- Support acquisitions and dispositions through property condition assessments.
- Partner with investment and asset management teams on capital planning and underwriting.
- Provide technical risk assessments and recommendations for repositioning strategies.
- Build and lead a high‑performing facilities and project delivery organization.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration across operations, construction, and investments.
- Establish best practices, processes, and performance benchmarks.
- Act as a trusted executive partner to ownership and senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across commercial real estate facilities, construction, or operations.
- Proven success managing multi‑property portfolios and complex capital programs.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including capital budgeting and ROI analysis.
- Experience with office and/or industrial assets strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, and ESG initiatives a plus.
- Strong leadership presence with a hands‑on, ownership‑oriented mindset.
