Position Summary

The CFS Regional Supervisor – Portfolio Accounts plays a critical leadership role within Customer Financial Services, reporting directly to the CFS Manager – Operations. This position is responsible for supervising regional credit and collection activities across a defined portfolio of customer accounts. The role ensures effective management of accounts receivable (AR), mitigation of credit risk, regulatory compliance, and optimization of portfolio performance while minimizing bad debt exposure.

As a hands-on leader, the CFS Regional Supervisor provides guidance, mentorship, and strategic oversight to a team responsible for collections, dispute resolution, and portfolio management. This role partners cross-functionally to resolve sensitive account matters and supports organizational objectives through consistent, compliant, and customer-focused financial practices.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & AR Management
  • Oversee regional AR portfolios, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances, disputes, and billing issues.
  • Guide settlement negotiations, payment arrangements, and account resolutions for key and high-risk customers.
  • Review and make recommendations regarding bad debt classification, account placement, and write-off decisions.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to CFS team members, including Credit Analysts, Collection Specialists, and Leads.
  • Foster a collaborative, performance-driven environment focused on accountability, development, and continuous improvement.
  • Support workload management and scheduling to ensure consistent customer coverage and operational efficiency.
Credit Department Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Credit Department on all credit insurance, bonding, and surety issues to ensure proper risk mitigation strategies are in place.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all credit and collection activities comply with applicable commercial and consumer debt collection laws.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Customer Support, and Sales to resolve account issues and align on shared goals.
  • Serve as an escalation point for sensitive or complex customer financial matters.
Performance & Reporting
  • Analyze regional and portfolio performance against internal metrics and industry benchmarks.
  • Provide insights, summaries, and recommendations to leadership to improve AR performance and reduce credit exposure.
  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable management.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • In-depth understanding of creditor rights and bankruptcy law.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Professional financial or credit designations are a plus.
