Summary

The Supervisor of Construction Services provides leadership and oversight for project controls, scheduling, forecasting, and budgeting supporting transmission and distribution projects across the state. This role manages and provides operational support across the capital construction portfolio of projects and programs to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively. Working closely with cross‑functional teams and business unit stakeholders, the Supervisor ensures alignment with project objectives and operational priorities.

The role also partners with Supply Chain Management to procure, administer, and manage major service contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and value throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field plus four (4) years experience in project management, design, Transmission & Distribution portfolio management, or construction/maintenance. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a combination of college coursework and experience in project management, design, or construction/maintenance totaling eight (8) years is acceptable.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
  • Experience in an electric utility, transmission or distribution organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of budget development/process as well as expenditure tracking and monitoring.
  • Expertise in project management and process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo, EPMS, Power Plan, and other computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Major Accountabilities
  • Manage comprehensive work plans and schedules, including outside services and material requirements, to ensure work is completed safely, timely, and cost‑effectively.
  • Manage and provide cost data parameters for budget forecasting of T&D capital projects and programs.
  • Provide effective leadership to the team to ensure group and team success, individual contribution, and resolution of employee issues within the group.
  • Develop strategic partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate across APS departments to align priorities and resolve issues.
  • Monitor departmental budget and expenditures to ensure annual budgets are met.
  • Resolve differences by encouraging and practicing open communications and clarity of expectations.
  • Provide accurate accounting and timely processing of invoices and accruals.
