Role OverviewWithin A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice, we focus on serving upper middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms. As Manager, Merger Integration & Carve‑Outs – Education Industry, you will be part of the MI&C team that supports high‑profile deals across the U.S. Your work will span the full lifecycle of M&A transactions, including due diligence, integration planning, synergy assessment, and post‑close execution.

- Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, supplementing standard assessment techniques with innovative approaches, evaluating analysis, and developing recommendations.
- Lead one or more work streams within the Integration Management Office (IMO) – e.g., synergies, TSAs, blueprinting, Day‑1 readiness, executive reporting, integration roadmap, communications, organizational design.
- Drive performance improvement assessments and oversee implementation of recommendations across an enterprise, including Day‑1 and Day‑100 planning.
- Track progress against objectives and adjust integration strategies or staffing as required.
- 5‑8+ years of professional experience (corporate and/or consulting) with exposure to merger integration, business transformation, or change management.
- Operating experience in, and/or exposure to, the for‑profit education sector.
- Understanding of key value drivers for investing in for‑profit education and awareness of major trade‑offs, trends, and issues.
- Experience in integration planning and, ideally, divestitures.
- Experience leading work streams in business transformation.
- Deep functional expertise in any of:
Finance & Accounting operations; HR/Organizational design;
Role & Job Analysis;
Leadership & Stakeholder involvement;
Communications planning;
Supply Chain / Operations;
Salesforce effectiveness;
Marketing optimization;
Pricing/Margin/Mix optimization;
Knowledge Management and Transfer. - MBA preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Initiative, critical thinking, flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time.
Full‑time positions (≥30 hours) include health plans, flexible spending, life, AD&D, disability coverages, 401(k) with discretionary contribution, paid time off (vacation, personal days, 72 hours sick time, ten federal holidays, floating holiday, parental leave). Salary range: $125,000 – $190,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus based on individual and firm performance.
