Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager (Construction)
Location: Greater Phoenix, AZ Area (On-site, with some travel)
Compensation: Up to $110K base salary (DOE) + bonus potential and comprehensive benefits
A growing and reputable organization in the Greater Phoenix Area is seeking a skilled EHS Manager to lead and enhance its Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing policies, procedures, and programs that ensure legal, regulatory, and safety compliance while fostering a safe and efficient workplace. This is a full‑time, on‑site role with occasional local travel.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety procedures across all departments.
- Plan and deliver training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and compliance topics.
- Monitor safety procedures and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments of facilities and equipment.
- Maintain documentation for chemical management and equipment approval processes.
- Analyze EHS data and trends to drive improvements and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present EHS reports and metrics to leadership.
- Lead EHS teams and committees focused on continuous improvement.
- Support incident investigations and recommend preventative strategies.
- Provide technical EHS support and champion site‑specific projects.
- Oversee workers' compensation processes, OSHA logs, and regulatory postings.
- Assign relevant safety training (e.g., OSHA 30) to applicable staff.
- Manage PPE distribution for safety‑sensitive roles.
- Establish and manage risk management policies and business continuity strategies.
- Monitor and manage vehicle fleet operations, including compliance, acquisition, and disposal.
- Track and share key safety metrics with site leadership for transparency and improvement.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience in risk management, workplace safety programs, and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to lead training sessions, investigations, and cross‑functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Previous experience managing vehicle fleets and EHS documentation is a plus.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is a plus.
