Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock/consolidation/deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best‑in‑class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi‑channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e‑commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset‑based, asset‑light, and non‑asset models.
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily workflows, supporting team performance, and ensuring operational excellence across all activities. This role manages staff, monitors productivity, and maintains quality and safety standards while driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Daily Operations Management
Oversee day‑to‑day operations to ensure productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
Assign tasks and allocate staffing based on workload and priority.
Monitor workflow performance and proactively address delays, bottlenecks, or system issues.
Supervise, coach, and motivate team members to achieve operational goals.
Conduct training for new hires and support ongoing development for existing staff.
Evaluate performance, provide feedback, and initiate corrective actions when needed.
Manage shift schedules, attendance, and time‑off requests to ensure adequate coverage.
Ensure all work meets company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Implement and uphold company policies, safety procedures, and compliance guidelines.
Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain accurate and high‑quality output.
Respond quickly and effectively to operational issues as they arise.
Troubleshoot challenges related to workflow, equipment, or personnel.
Escalate critical issues to management and recommend actionable solutions.
Prepare and distribute daily/weekly reports on performance, productivity, and KPIs.
Maintain accurate records of operations, incidents, training, and inventory.
Track and analyze metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Communicate effectively with management, internal departments, and external partners.
Support cross‑functional collaboration to ensure seamless operational flow.
Deliver updates, expectations, and organizational goals to the team.
Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to processes and workflows.
Assist in implementing new systems, procedures, or technology enhancements.
Foster a continuous improvement mindset within the team.
Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
Identify potential hazards and enforce proper safety protocols.
