Nutrition & Wellness Worker - Pinnacle HS

Purpose Statement

The Nutrition & Wellness Worker I position provides support to the food service personnel at the assigned school location. Responsibilities include food preparation, compliance with the National School Lunch Program, and mandated health requirements.

Reports to Kitchen Manager.

• Cleans equipment, storage areas, and food serving lines to maintain safe and sanitary conditions.
• Assists with inspections of food and supply deliveries, verifying quantity, quality, and specifications.
• Supports management and other staff (substitutes, student workers, volunteers) in daily kitchen operations.
• Serves one or more items of food to meet mandated nutritional requirements.
• Stocks food and supplies to maintain adequate quantities and security.
• Reconciles transactions (e.g., meal counts, monies collected) to maintain account balances as per policies.
• Maintains manual and electronic files and records (production reports, temperature logs, timesheets) for up-to-date information and historical reference.
• Uses web‑based programs and other software related to the N&W Department to support daily operations.

Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

• Adheres to safety practices and operates kitchen equipment.
• Performs basic math, understands written procedures, writes routine documents, speaks clearly, follows multi‑step instructions.
• Uses job‑related equipment, considers factors when using equipment, works flexibly with others, handles diverse individuals and groups.
• Communicates with diverse groups, sets priorities, works as part of a team, handles interruptions, works with detailed information/data, maintains rapport with students, employees, and community.

Work under direct supervision, follow standardized practices, provide information and/or advice to others.

The position requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Job involves 10% sitting, 30% walking, and 60% standing under temperature extremes and potential injury risk. Applicant must lift 50 pounds.

Job‑related experience desired.

High school diploma or equivalent desired but not required.

• Food Handler’s Card (maintained continuously)
• Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Criminal Background Clearance.
