Mammoth Sweepers is seeking a dedicated Street Sweeper Operator to join our team and contribute to keeping our city clean, beautiful, and making a positive impact on the lives of residents and visitors alike. Position: Street Sweeper Operator
Location: Phoenix, AZ
As a Street Sweeper Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our customers' parking lots, streets, and other public areas. The purpose of this position is to operate heavy and medium duty equipment in a variety of maintenance activities including street sweeping, blowing, portering, and related operations according to required standards serving our 100+ customer locations throughout the Valley.
Responsibilities
- Operating our state-of-the-art street sweeper equipment to remove debris, litter, and dirt from streets, parking lots, neighborhoods, construction sites, road maintenance projects and other areas
- Service a planned route of accounts and will be responsible to complete your work independently (no one will be checking on you all night)
- Work outside sweeping shopping plazas or store parking lots using a leaf blower to blow off sidewalks, change trash bags, and could walk 3-4 miles in a shift (if you dread sitting in a truck all day, don't worry, you will get your exercise in!)
- Navigating assigned routes efficiently, ensuring thorough and effective cleaning in a timely manner of all scheduled daily work orders and tasks
- Reporting unsafe situations or service calls to the team before attempting service and any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage
- Perform pre and post trip inspections, ensure vehicle operates correctly when in service, washing and basic vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance
- Communicating with the team to schedule routine maintenance and repairs, ensuring the equipment is always in top-notch condition
- Adhering to safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate safety gear and adhering to traffic regulations, to guarantee the well-being of yourself, your team, and the public while operating the street sweeper
- Comfortable using mobile phone software applications to maintain accurate records of routes, cleaning activities, and equipment maintenance
- Participate in all scheduled trainings, meetings, and safety briefings
- Yard support services, such as cleaning and organizing

- Previous experience in street sweeping or operating heavy equipment is advantageous, but we're open to training motivated individuals who demonstrate a willingness to learn

- Physical Fitness:
Street sweeping can be physically demanding; candidates should be able to handle extended periods of standing, walking, and lifting - Obtain a valid and current medical physical clearance certificate
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Pass background, drivers license, drug test prior to employment and ongoing per company policies
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Competitive Compensation:
We value our team members' contributions and offer competitive pay - Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour DOE
- Full-Time: 40 hours per week expected (depending on sweep schedule)
- Overtime:
Not guaranteed and must be approved in advance - Work Schedule:
You're flexible to shifts starting early evening and finishing early morning - Location:
Must reliably commute and return to our North Phoenix vehicle yard for shift start and finishes
