About the Role
As a Medical Malpractice Defense Paralegal, you will play a critical role in assisting attorneys who defend a variety of healthcare professionals and institutions in intricate medical negligence litigation. Your responsibilities will encompass thorough medical record analysis, expert coordination, discovery management, and effective trial preparation.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently organize and manage extensive medical records and discovery materials.
- Create detailed medical chronologies, summaries, and timelines related to cases.
- Assist in the retention, disclosure, and coordination of expert witnesses.
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and correspondence.
- Meticulously monitor deadlines, filings, and litigation calendars.
- Provide support for depositions, hearings, and trial preparations.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical malpractice or professional liability defense.
- Proficient in managing medical records and conducting causation analysis.
- Familiarity with Arizona civil procedure and discovery rules is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, writing, and communication skills.
- Able to independently manage complex, document-intensive cases.
