the Role
The Litigation Paralegal will be a key player in supporting our attorneys and helping our clients throughout all phases of personal injury litigation and large-scale prelitigation (advanced injury) cases. We’re looking for someone who is team-oriented, self-sufficient, proactive, and excels under pressure. This is more than just a support role — you’ll be an essential part of case strategy, preparation, and execution.
You will be expected to take ownership of your cases, care deeply about the human beings we represent, and to strive to have the back of the attorneys with whom you work.
- Independently manage a litigation caseload from filing through resolution
- Independently manage large-scale (advanced injury) prelitigation matters while coordinating excellent client advocacy in conjunction with our medical records collection team and liens team
- Draft, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and other court documents
- Prepare conservatorship paperwork, track time entries, finalize conservatorships and coordinate annuity payments, etc.
- Prepare and respond to discovery (including Initial Disclosure Statements), review discovery responses received, and take first draft of meet and confer discovery letters and other correspondence
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates, preparation, and next steps
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, IMEs, and expert witness meetings
- Draft meet-and-confer letters, subpoenas, notices, and trial-related documentation
- Review, redact, and organize medical records – we have a medical records department, but you will manage them and the case manager on your cases to make sure to set up the Firm and your clients for success by taking ownership of your cases and knowing them like the back of your hand
- Conduct legal research and draft memos related to case law and procedural rules
- Manage attorney calendars and ensure timely docketing of all critical deadlines – the calendaring needs to be perfect, and you must have a working knowledge of the Arizona and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Work directly in CASEpeer, our case management system, for documentation and data entry
- Work in EVE, Legal AI Software to maximize efficiency and enhance results for our clients
- Assist attorneys in deposition preparation, including compiling exhibits, taking first draft of outline, and supporting attorney before, during, and after depositions
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including compiling exhibits and creating trial binders
- Remain in continuous and supportive communication with your team, including the attorneys with whom you work
- 5+ years of litigation and high-value pre-litigation experience in personal injury law
- Strong knowledge of Arizona civil procedure, court rules, and filing requirements
- Excellent drafting, organizational, and communication skills
