Associate Conflicts Counsel – Phoenix, AZ
Snell & Wilmer is seeking an Associate Conflicts Counsel in our Phoenix office. This dynamic position requires strong ethical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex conflict and ethical issues across over a thousand client matters and staff.
Responsibilities- Review and analyze conflict report results, gathering facts to resolve conflicts.
- Monitor changes and updates to ethical rules and assess their impact on the firm.
- Collaborate with Conflict Counsel, Associate Conflict Counsel, General Counsel, the Executive Committee, the Ethics Committee, and Loss Prevention Counsel.
- Review waiver letters, joint representation letters, engagement letters, and outside counsel guidelines to ensure compliance with firm policies and ethical standards.
- Assist the recruiting department with conflict issues for new attorney and staff hires.
- Work with client intake on new matter submissions to confirm compliance.
- Assist in preparing ethical walls and creating training sessions for attorneys and staff.
- Review marketing materials for ethical compliance.
- Perform other duties assigned by General Counsel or Conflicts Counsel.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree, required.
- At least three years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- Active admission in good standing with the Arizona Bar.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage sensitive, confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and high attention to detail.
