Overview

Sr Manager of Risk and Business Insurance

TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. The first fab will operate its leading-edge N4 process technology, with production starting in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. A third fab is planned to manufacture chips using 2nm or more advanced technology, with production by the end of the decade.

This role focuses on strategic insurance programs supporting large construction projects and risk management to safeguard operations and facilitate project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Insurance Placement: Direct OCIP placement efforts with brokers and insurers, ensuring timely delivery of program policies aligned with construction project timelines.
  • Program Oversight: Oversee enrollments, contracts, safety, claims, and related compliance matters to ensure coverage and regulatory adherence. Manage the insurance database and data collection. Coordinate and lead the Insurance committee meetings with alignment to TSMC Headquarters.
  • Policy Coordination and Analysis: Analyze and interpret terms and conditions of Builders Risk Insurance Programs, OCIPs, OPPI, and Property insurance. Act as a liaison among program participants to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
  • Risk Management: Identify insurable risks and potential mitigation opportunities, coordinating with operational groups to educate and ensure appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Claim Management: Assist in internal claim management for Builders Risk, OCIP, and Property claims; oversee third-party administrators, insurers, adjusters, and legal service providers.
  • Financial Analysis: Contribute to budgets, forecasts, and financial reports; analyze annual insurance premiums, program performance, billing rates, and premium allocations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on trends in the construction insurance industry and integrate knowledge into processes and workflows.
  • Communication and Reporting: Coordinate the assembly and delivery of management reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process Development: Develop and review standardized processes to improve efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and minimize Total Cost of Risk (TCOR).
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or other quantitative fields preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant work experience in business insurance management, particularly within the construction, manufacturing, or semiconductor industry.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and data analytics. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex insurance terms and conditions.
  • Interpersonal

    Skills:

    Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees and external partners; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; effective listening and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Attend weekly meetings at construction sites; sitting, standing, and working on a computer.

Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix, Arizona facility.
