Company Description

We’re representing a defense technology company building autonomous swarm systems designed for demanding national security environments. Their fleet of autonomous unmanned ground vehicles operates across embedded, GPU‑accelerated edge systems and cloud‑connected infrastructure. As the company scales, reliable and secure software deployment across heterogeneous embedded processors is mission‑critical. This role sits at the center of ensuring hardware‑software integration is seamless—from initial board bring‑up through production fleet updates in the field.

What

You Will Do

As a Software Deployment Engineer
, you will own the deployment, reliability, and security of software running across embedded edge devices and supporting cloud systems. This is a hands‑on role focused on CI/CD, provisioning, and secure containerized workflows for robotics systems. You will:

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting embedded and edge deployments.
  • Build reproducible, secure, and scalable fleet provisioning infrastructure.
  • Develop containerized deployment workflows optimized for resource‑constrained edge environments.
  • Support board bring‑up and system configuration on NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
  • Customize BSP and Jet Pack/L4T environments for production systems.
  • Implement secure deployment practices including secure boot, root of trust, and supply chain protections.
  • Collaborate with embedded, autonomy, and systems teams to ensure reliable hardware‑software integration.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation and idempotent deployment processes.
  • Ensure systems can operate in constrained or intermittently connected environments.

This role requires building scalable processes from scratch in a fast‑moving startup where execution, precision, and security are critical.

Ideal Background
  • 3+ years of experience in Dev Ops, SRE, or embedded systems deployment roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Deep expertise in Linux internals and system‑level configuration.
  • Hands‑on experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (board bring‑up, BSP customization, Jet Pack/L4T).
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Circle

    CI, etc.).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (preferably Ansible).
  • Strong containerization experience (Docker) in resource‑constrained environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
  • Strong understanding of embedded cybersecurity principles (secure boot, kernel hardening, root of trust, supply chain security).
  • Commitment to documentation, reproducibility, and automation best practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ.
Preferred
  • Experience with hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) testing.
  • Experience with declarative configuration management (e.g., Nix/NixOS).
  • Experience with bootloaders such as U‑Boot and secure boot implementations.
  • Experience with Kubernetes in edge or hybrid environments.
  • Experience deploying systems in air‑gapped or intermittently connected environments.
  • Familiarity with ROS or robotics software stacks.
  • Experience with GPU programming environments (CUDA, Tensor

    RT).
  • Experience with SBOM practices and supply chain risk management.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Work Model: Full‑time, onsite in Phoenix, AZ.
  • Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Impact: Direct ownership of deployment and security practices for autonomous systems operating in defense environments.
  • Growth: Opportunity to build foundational deployment infrastructure at a high‑impact robotics startup.
Mission Alignment

This role is ideal for engineers motivated by contributing to the defense of the United States and its allies.

Equal Opportunity

The company is committed to equal employment opportunity and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000 base.
