The role blends technical execution, mentoring, and lifecycle planning in a fast-moving environment that values continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall, and load-balancing technologies in complex environments.
  • Lead network design and redesign efforts for campus buildings and distributed locations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to evaluate requirements, review solutions, and execute network projects.
  • Review vendor proposals and contribute recommendations for new builds, upgrades, and lifecycle planning.
  • Mentor junior network administrators and provide technical guidance during troubleshooting and project work.
  • Document network designs, configurations, and operational standards to support long-term stability.
  • Present technical designs and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences using diagrams and visual tools.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support to maintain 24/7 network availability.
What you’ve got
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of hands-on experience in network administration or engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with routing and switching protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
  • Experience supporting campus and data center networking technologies in enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of wireless networking, VPN technologies, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring, troubleshooting tools, and packet capture analysis.
  • Experience working with common enterprise networking hardware and platforms.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Willingness to travel between campuses regularly, with occasional regional travel.
  • Exposure to cloud networking and hybrid environments preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ITIL Foundation, or cloud fundamentals certifications preferred.
