The Arizona Department of Economic Security (AZDES) is seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect to design, develop, and implement secure, scalable AI and Agentic AI solutions. This role will collaborate closely with internal AI product teams, vendors, and development staff to enhance and streamline enterprise AI systems aligned with public‑sector standards. This position requires strong technical leadership, hands‑on architecture experience, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
🔑 Key Responsibilities- Design and implement secure, scalable AI and Agentic AI architectures
- Define end‑to‑end AI solutions including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and human‑in‑the‑loop workflows
- Provide architectural leadership and develop technical documentation for approvals
- Ensure compliance with State of Arizona security, privacy, accessibility, and data governance standards (PII, HIPAA, CJIS where applicable)
- Establish AI reference architectures and best practices for ethical and responsible AI use
- Evaluate and integrate Azure AI platforms, cloud services, and vendor solutions
- Design AI systems supporting explainability, auditability, bias mitigation, and transparency
- Collaborate with Dev Ops, cybersecurity, and data teams to move AI solutions from POC to production
- Support AI strategy, roadmap development, and executive briefings
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong experience with Agentic AI and Azure OpenAI
- Hands‑on knowledge of LLMs, ML, RAG, and human‑in‑the‑loop workflows
- Experience with .NET (C#, ), HTML, Java script
- Experience with AI automation tools (OCR, IDP, AI/ML)
Ability to create architecture artifacts, technical designs, and specifications - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze existing code and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Azure Dev Ops, Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with REST & SOAP APIs
- Agile methodologies:
Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean - Knowledge of SDLC and ITIL processes
- Experience mentoring developers and promoting best practices
- Familiarity with OnBase Unity Client, MS Office, Google Suite
- Local Phoenix, AZ candidates only
- First day onsite required for equipment pickup
- Background check required
