The EDI Specialist plays a dual role in daily EDI operations and ongoing initiatives and onboarding. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient electronic data exchange across both the vendor-facing procurement lifecycle (e.g., purchase orders, acknowledgments, invoices) and the customer-facing order-to-invoice lifecycle (e.g., order receipt, shipping notices, invoicing). The analyst will support, interpret, and troubleshoot both EDI and XML transaction data to maintain seamless integration between internal systems and external trading partners.
EssentialDuties
- Monitor daily EDI transactions—including 810 Invoices, 850 Purchase Orders, 855 Acknowledgments, 860 Purchase Order Change, and 856 Advance Ship Notices to ensure smooth data flow and timely resolution of errors.
- Support vendor-facing procurement processes by validating and troubleshooting inbound/outbound PO, acknowledgment, ASN, and invoice transactions.
- Support customer-facing order-to-invoice processes by analyzing order intake, shipment updates, and invoice outputs to ensure accuracy and operational continuity.
- Maintain and oversee EDI maps and specifications.
- Perform root cause analysis for data, mapping, and connectivity issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work closely with IT teams, functional business areas, and trading partners to integrate EDI workflows with internal systems and external partners.
- Support shared email inbox inquiries submitted by internal and external partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree AND 2 years of relevant experience OR 5 years of relevant experience.
- Microsoft Office proficiency:
Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required;
Power
BI and SQL server preferred. - Strong knowledge of EDI standards and communication protocols (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, AS2, SFTP, XML).
