Application Security Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Application Security Engineer to join their team. As a Application Security Engineer, you will be part of the Security Department supporting the Application Security Team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Contract duration - 9+ months

Phoenix, Arizona - Hybrid 3 days onsite

$50-$60/hour, w2

• Design, implement, and validate security controls across applications and services.
• Perform application penetration testing using industry-standard tools such as Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Nmap, Sqlmap, and Metasploit.
• Identify, validate, and prioritize vulnerabilities; collaborate with engineering teams to reproduce issues and define remediation strategies.
• Integrate security testing into CI/CD pipelines, including automated scanning and security gates.
• Review code and architecture with developers to identify security weaknesses and recommend best practices.

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Practical experience with application security or penetration testing focused on web and/or mobile applications.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Java, Python, or C#.
• Hands‑on experience with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Nmap, Sqlmap, and Metasploit.
• Experience working within modern CI/CD environments and source control systems like Git.
