• They are redesigning architecture for stack and data centers
• His team does everything: HVAC, power requirement, designing data centers, architecture of network system, lab in east valley where they build the stacks prior to outage, during outages they have a short time to work on the equipment.
• They manage the assets—they do maintenance, go to departments every week, check on assets and issues, patching work during the year at certain times.
• Specialty in VMWare, good experience in firewalls, he is not tied to Palo Alto, could have other firewall experience, Cisco shop (all switches are Cisco), and Active Directory. VMWare is a gap on the team, so that is a focus for him now. 50% of time spent on VMWare configuration, building out the set up from ground up, not just troubleshooting or maintaining.
  
  20% on firewall/switches, data centers are being built out, they are the SMEs for it, this includes cleaning up debris and cleaning up the data center. Not a typical IT role.

We are seeking a highly experienced Infrastructure Engineer with deep technical expertise in enterprise virtualization (VMware), firewall technologies (especially Palo Alto), core infrastructure design, and systems administration including Active Directory.

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade virtualization environments, with a strong emphasis on VMware technologies, ensuring high availability and performance across SRP’s generation fleet.
• Architect and integrate Palo Alto firewall solutions, including VPNs and advanced security configurations, into industrial control system networks.
• Provide expert-level systems administration for technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, patching, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security Services to apply robust security strategies across infrastructure layers.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, with a focus on infrastructure modernization and security.
• Manage work tickets and customer relationships with a service-oriented mindset.
• Lead infrastructure-related projects and provide executive-level reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable NERC CIP requirements.

• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience with VMware virtualization stacks, including deployment, support, and troubleshooting of associated hardware/software.
• Proven experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including configuration, integration, and security policy management.
• Strong background in systems administration, particularly with Active Directory, Windows Server, and endpoint management tools.
• Experience supporting full‑stack technology implementations, from network infrastructure to business applications.
• Familiarity with industrial technologies and control systems is a plus.
