About You...
A project manager with 5+ years of experience who wants to execute and elevate our project management process. Between project and MSP work, our clients keep us busy, and we need your help keeping our projects planned, tracked, reported on and executed to our impeccable standards. You know how to drive things to completion and are excellent with clients and co-workers alike.
You take ownership of project success and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
As an IT Project Manager you will...
- Deliver engagements within the constraints of schedule, features/functionality, and budget
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of an integrated solution usually composed of products, services, or a formalized solution offering
- Manage Micro Age resources, partners and/or customer resources and materials (equipment, software/license) used to complete tasks in a project
- Maintain the Master Project Plan/Schedule, and the Communication Plan (communications within the team and between the team and external entities)
- Monitor project health relative to resources (people and cost), schedule (time), and features (the solution and its quality)
- Reconcile actual versus planned performance, analyzes variances, evaluates possible alternatives and takes appropriate corrective actions (control)
- Create, publish and review project status reports with all project stakeholders
- Conduct post implementation lessons learned
- Follow documented procedures for delivery process
- Document technical conversations accurately and publish meeting notes with action items and next steps
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
- Provide guidance to project resources and ensure effective change management throughout the project
- Optimize project management processes using PMI best practices
- Train and mentor project managers on process and best practices
- Peer review SOWs and identify scope deficiencies and risks and adjusts scope accordingly
- Write change orders that includes scope and level of effort
- Present and articulate PMO process, project history/financials, etc. content to leadership
- Executive communication and influence. Ability to simplify complex initiatives and secure decisions quickly.
- Customer obsessed with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with others; recognize different values and styles, and respects others' unique characteristics or strengths
- Action-oriented, strong understanding of and ability to articulate customer's sense of urgency
- Highly organized with attention to detail; understanding of project management fundamentals
- Acts confidently in uncertain circumstances; works effectively in ambiguous situations
- 5+ years of managing IT projects independently
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (preferred)
- Active Project Management Certification e.g., PMP
- Expert leading successful implementation of large-scale Microsoft, networking and cybersecurity projects
- Expert creating project plans with the input of subject matter experts
- Expert running technical meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
- Expert taking technical meeting notes and publishing project status reports
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Background in VAR or MSP environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft, VMware, Networking and Connect Wise a big plus
