Join a dynamic IT team as a Linux System Administrator in a full-time role where you'll work primarily with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in a secure, enterprise environment. This organization is modernizing its infrastructure with upcoming migrations to AWS, containerization initiatives, and automation improvements. You'll be part of a tight-knit team of 5 (Network Admin, 3 System Admins, and CISO) supporting critical internal tooling and developer database systems in a 7x24x365 environment.

With a low-impact on‑call rotation (only once per month, minimal pages), you'll spend 60% of your time on greenfield projects, including Red Hat Satellite upgrades, AWS cloud migrations, and automation initiatives, with the goal of reducing maintenance work to just 30%. The team is invested in teaching and developing talent—they're looking for someone who learns quickly and can grow with emerging technologies like containerization and cloud platforms.
You'll have the autonomy to work independently while being supported by experienced colleagues who value knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- 5+ years of progressive Linux System Administration experience
- Deep expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Strong scripting skills in Bash (essential)
- Hands‑on experience with Active Directory/LDAP integration and user synchronization
- Proven ability to build and configure servers from the ground up
- Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and security hardening
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification
- Experience with Ansible automation
- Python scripting capabilities
- Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes, or Open Shift)
- Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) platform management
- AWS or Google Cloud Platform experience
- Net App SAN storage experience
- Red Hat JBoss experience
- Red Hat RDS experience
- Windows Server administration experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 80% Red Hat Linux (RHEL, Red Hat Satellite, various Linux flavors)
- 15% Containerization & Cloud Migration (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS prep)
- 5% Windows Server Support (internal tooling)
- 60% Hands‑On Technical Work (system builds, configurations, troubleshooting, automation)
- 30% Project Work (Red Hat Satellite upgrades, AWS migrations, containerization)
- 10% Team Collaboration (documentation, training, supporting Dev/Ops teams)
