The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a talented and professional PENSION SPECIALIST responsible for the daily operation of State Benefits, the ADCRR Corrections Officers Retirement Plan (CORP), and the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). This position coordinates benefits for over 9,000 active and retired members, and ensures the administration of the CORP Board statutory provisions as well as compliance with internal, policy, and procedures.

Job Duties- Assists employees on extended leaves of absence, including LWOP billing, payment processing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with ADOA Personnel Rules.
- Processes Donated Annual Leave requests.
- Reviews Qualified Life Event (QLE) enrollment forms for compliance with ADOA Personnel Rules and mandated time frames.
- Contacts the appropriate HR Liaison upon issues and submits to the ADOA Benefits Services Division for entry.
- Participates as administrative support at Local CORP Board meetings and provides managerial/technical program expertise in CORP administration on statutory and procedural issues.
- Processes retirement applications (normal, disability, and survivor) for statutory and option eligibility.
- Documents completeness/accuracy, audits contribution histories, processes benefit applications, determines payments, and provides estimates for seminar attendees.
- Adheres to statutory time constraints when processing documents.
- Participates in Open Enrollment activities and processes OE enrollment forms with ADOA.
- Promotes and provides staff with information about employee benefits and related programs during weekly sign-ins, benefit sessions, and seminars.
- Validates benefit end dates for terminated employees to ensure timely data entry and cessation of benefits.
- Conducts and oversees CORP Board elections.
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.

- Exercise tact, diplomacy, and maintain confidentiality
- Employment is contingent on passing a background investigation.
- TB test required at New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.
- If driving is required, possess a valid driver’s license and complete related checks/training; maintain required auto liability insurance when using a personal vehicle on state business.
