Overview/Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager provides comprehensive Human Resources services that support the achievement of business strategy and corporate objectives. Provides HR services to all levels across the business including hiring, onboarding, training and development and HR administration. Provides training and coaching for managers on their people management skills in alignment with Asbury's Servant Leadership and guest-centric culture.
Duties/Responsibilities
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local employment laws
Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
Provides Employee Relations (ER) support and education to dealership managers. Handles all ER issues in a timely manner. Formulates and recommends solid business decisions that protect the company
Monitors the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees
Helps to create an environment where Asbury is seen as a great place to work where continuous improvement is the norm
Helps to develop "bench strength" of talent and skills
Shares best practices with HR team and dealerships
Helps to inspire a culture of servant leadership by serving the reasonable needs of our team members
Manages the daily tasks of the HR Assistant/Administrator producing timely results with minimum overtime
Keeps the HR Assistant/Administrator up to date on all HR initiatives and policy and procedure changes
Develops the HR Assistant/Administrator and helps him/her to accomplish yearly goals and objectives
Manages all PLOAs request
Monitors team members on leave
Follows up with new hires on signing up for benefits
Monitors the No Pay Report and takes appropriate action when needed
Ensures compliance with required dealership postings
Conducts annual associate MVR review
Partners with the Benefit department on annual and new hire enrollment, bio-metric screening and communication
Manages un-employment claims and hearings
Approves all involuntary terminations and eligibility for rehire
Approves all transfers
Monitors Workers Comp cases
Performs other related duties to benefit the mission/vision of the organization
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
