Overview
The Clinical Pharmacist will serve as the primary liaison for internal and external clients within the medical‑only book of business. Responsibilities include driving retention, satisfaction, and cost containment insights while providing utilization and financial reporting. The role supports AMPS/Drexi client service staff as a pharmacy subject matter expert.
Responsibilities- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance for all members and clients.
- Advise on local, state, federal legislative, legal, and industry requirements for PBM.
- Review, edit, and support standard and client‑specific drug formularies, prior authorization protocols, MAC (Maximum Allowable Cost) lists, and rebate contracts.
- Determine clinical dispositions for pharmacy, patient, and prescriber‑generated prior authorization requests per established guidelines.
- Support client retention, renewals, upsells, and satisfaction initiatives.
- Provide review and evaluation of client and prospect drug utilization review, financial and clinical insights, and pharmacy provider contracting when required.
- Review, edit, and maintain specialty, brand, and generic product introductions.
- Develop standard operating procedures for external advocacy, manufacturer savings, patient assistance, and copay assistance programs.
- Facilitate claim migration and utilization of international drug sourcing for select clients.
- Support clinical and financial review of multiple accounts, maintaining superior customer service levels and operational excellence.
- Maintain account activity within the CRM system and coordinate with marketing, product, and sales as directed by leadership.
- Participate in new business implementations, training, and project initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Pharm
D from an accredited US School of Pharmacy (preferred). - Current Pharmacy License in good standing in the issuing state.
- 5–7+ years of pharmacy experience within PBM or Managed Care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the PBM industry.
- Proficiency in data management, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong customer service, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Commensurate with position as defined by HR.
