The Community Resource Specialist I provides high quality customer service and serves as the main point of contact for the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities- Schedules and confirms appointments; verifies insurance.
- Manages referrals, work queues, patient lists, emails, and referrals in Electronic Health Record.
- Interacts with patients via telephone, email, or in person to provide support and information on NOAH services.
- Explains community resources and connects patients with appropriate resources.
- Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve patient problems and concerns.
- Promotes and provides access to care.
- Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills including active listening.
- Service-oriented and able to resolve patient grievances.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, basic medical terminology and NOAH services.
- Ability to speak English and Spanish required.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in customer service; healthcare industry experience.
- New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
- Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
