Position Summary

This position performs diagnostic computerized tomography scanning procedures to produce consistently high quality examinations in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations and licensing requirements.

• Receives supervision from the Manager, Radiology and does not supervise any other position.
• Assists in training of imaging students as needed and provides CT safety lectures to all hospital staff members as necessary.
• Maintains professional and technical competency by continually pursuing knowledge and self‑improvement.
• Participates in the evaluation and/or development of new procedures, protocols for imaging sequences, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs diagnostic computerized tomography scanning procedures and exams, determining proper techniques and positioning to ensure optimal results.
• Performs finalizing functions, including limited coding using the radiology information system (RIS) to provide timely and accurate patient information and charge capture; archives records according to radiologist specifications.
• Performs regular equipment calibration and maintenance; identifies and troubleshoots malfunctions to ensure continuous proper and safe operations; reports service needs and preventive maintenance issues as appropriate.
• Provides CT safety information and lectures to patients and families to ensure thorough understanding of procedure protocols.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Education

• Successful completion of a JRCERT approved radiologic program.

Experience

• One year radiology experience.
• One year pediatric imaging experience.

Additional Requirements

• Current Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency MRTBE license.
• Current ARRT registration in CT (must obtain within 1 year).
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association.
