What We Are Looking For
Next Care Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment. We seek customer-friendly and passionate employees who make patients and employees a top priority.

Responsibilities
  • Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant.
  • Administers all forms of medications per policy and Provider direction and adheres to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration.
  • Performs blood draws as directed by the Provider.
  • May be responsible for urine collection for various testing, including employer drug screens.
  • May perform splinting and casting.
  • Conducts physicals such as sports physicals.
  • Performs other related duties in urgent care (e.g., ear lavage, wound care and oxygen administration).
  • Notifies the provider on duty promptly of unusual patient occurrences including medication events on incident reports.
  • Notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
  • Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
  • Must be proficient in EMR/EHR.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or described by company policy.

As a Medical Assistant, you may also support Front Office Reception. When working in the front office you will perform duties such as keeping patients and families informed of wait times, monitoring patient flow, processing patients for discharge (including preparing charges, collecting payment, obtaining signatures, and issuing receipts).

The Medical Assistant supports the organization with customer service and treating all patients with respect and dignity. They ensure the clinic and front reception area run smoothly and patient flow is optimized, while providing patient care services in the back office to meet patient needs.

Essential Education, Experience And Skills

ARIZONA

Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent;
AND

  • Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.

OR

  • Completed an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification through one of the following:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) – CMA exam and certification; or
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT) – RMA exam and certification; or
  • National Health career Association (NHA) – CCMA exam and certification.
