Position Summary
The Business Analyst provides operational, strategic, and financial support for the Respiratory Care Services Department. This role is responsible for data analysis and reporting across all Respiratory Care locations, including the Thomas Campus, Arrowhead Campus, Avondale Campus, and future expansions. The Analyst develops and implements cost-reduction strategies to help meet Phoenix Children’s fiscal targets. This includes ensuring accurate charge capture, effective productivity tracking, and real-time analytics to support compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety initiatives.
Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires collaboration with physicians, staff, and external partners. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools is critical to support strategic, data-driven decision-making. This position reports directly to the Director of Respiratory Care Services.
- Ensures fiscal responsibility, accurate charge capture, and effective productivity tracking. Provides enhanced operational oversight across all respiratory care locations. Maintains systems and processes to support real-time auditing and analytics.
- Financial Analysis & Revenue Cycle Support
- Reviews and analyzes financial data; reports variances to the Director. Tracks volume, utilization, efficiency metrics, and other key statistics. Coordinates the Respiratory Care revenue cycle process, including charge master updates, routine audits, and daily charge processing. Assists in the development of annual budgets and volume projections.
- Data Analysis & Compliance Reporting
- Retrieves and analyzes departmental data to support DNV and other certification/compliance requirements. Supports strategic planning through business plans for proposed programs. Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and compares them to internal goals and national benchmarks.
- Cost Containment & Strategic Growth
- Reviews monthly budgets to identify cost-reduction opportunities. Recommends and implements efficiency improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Supports margin analysis to identify growth opportunities aligned with Phoenix Children’s strategic goals. Serves as a financial resource to providers within Respiratory Care Services.
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
