Emergency Planning/ Exercise Coordinator for the Partner Integration Section within the Bureau of Operational Readiness and Response at the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). This posting is for Current Internal ADHS Applicants ONLY.

Job SummaryThis position will develop, update, and maintain ADHS public health preparedness plans and develop and execute exercises to test those plans. The person will coordinate with federal, county, state and tribal officials on preparedness plans review and updates and maintain documentation. This includes ensuring that plans are proofed, reviewed, approved, and integrated into agency plans and the Arizona State Emergency Response and Recovery Plan (SERRP), ensuring consistency with the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
The person will document and submit Federal and State preparedness and emergency management annual reports (e.g., EMAP, PHAB, NIMSCAST, ORR).
- Plan, design, develop documentation, execute, evaluate, and prepare after-action reports for public health preparedness activities.
- Maintain an individual work plan to support section goals; track, monitor, and briefing on calendar events to maintain situational awareness of partners.
- Review and analyze county and tribal partner capability planning data; facilitate Corrective Action Work-Plan (CAWP) activities; conduct annual assessments of After Action Reports for continuous improvement.
- Report on drill/exercise outcomes and distribute findings to supervisors and planning teams; maintain comprehensive documentation of exercise planning and events.
- Demonstrate understanding of grant-defined disaster drill requirements, IPP activities, performance measures, and HSEEP methodology; align annual work plans to program requirements.
- Coordinate preparation of Federal and State preparedness and emergency management annual reports (EMAP, PHAB, NIMSCAST, ORR).
- Maintain the preparedness website and IPP; organize and facilitate ADHS-hosted events with on-site logistical support.
- Collaborate with Emergency Preparedness Planning Coordinators to develop plans that enhance preparedness capabilities; provide support as assigned by supervisors.
- Provide assistance with grant submissions, updates, reporting for the exercise program, and documentation, support, and evaluation within the Health Emergency Operations Center.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to the position.
Knowledge of:
- Roles and functions of the state health department, county and tribal health departments, and the healthcare system regarding public emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Experience using Microsoft and Google software for reports, event planning aids, email, calendar, and spreadsheets.
- Event planning coordination for multidisciplinary partners.
- Performance Management (PM), Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), and Lean Methodologies.
Skill in:

Bachelor's degree in a public health-related field with 3 years of related experience;
Master’s degree in a public health-related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.
