- Lead, organize, and participate in overall therapeutic activities for psychiatric patients.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment.
- Supervise patient's daily living, social skills, and money management.
- Provide patient care and support.
- Ensure proper security protocols are followed, including safe transportation to and from off-unit assignments.
- Document patient care and implement treatment plans.
- Work in a 24/7 controlled medical/behavioral health facility under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Lead and supervise direct patient care for various aspects of daily living.
- Provide therapeutic techniques in an individual or group setting
- Follow detailed oral and written instructions.
- Monitor behaviors and recognize, interpret, and respond to social signals.
- Provide crisis management that includes de-escalation and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrate solid decision making, problem solving, and judgement skills.
- Engage in active listening and effective communication
- Be able to work in a 24/7 controlled medical/behavioral health facility.
- A State Hospital employee must be able to obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card pursuant to A.R.S. § 41-1758.07.
- Attend required training at the start of employment.
- Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R).
- Mid-level proficiency in conducting training and meeting facilitation.
- Intermediate proficiency in management and leadership techniques.
- Skilled in conducting thorough searches within a medical/behavioral health facility.
- Intermediary quality improvement skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (ex: psychology, social work, counseling)
- CPR and NVCI Certification (you will be trained)
