Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks (3 weekend shifts in 4 week schedule)

• Holiday coverage based on unit rotation

• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 with high number of 1:1 assignments

• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on tele), travelers float first before permanent staff

• Required to float to Westgate campus if requested

• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)

• Pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes

• 2 days floor-specific orientation

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN preferred

• ICU experience required, CVICU experience preferred

• Level 2 experience accepted from teaching/high acuity/large hospitals

• Strong IV skills required (no IV team available)

• Must have own vehicle for travel

• Dress code:
Navy scrubs, natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean-shaven for fit test

• Care for cardiac surgery recovery patients, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, ECMO, and other high-acuity cases

• EMR system:
Cerner

• Telemetry equipment:
Phillips

• First time travelers accepted

• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This Level 1 trauma center is a major acute care facility featuring a 24-bed CTICU/CVICU unit that specializes in high-acuity cardiac and thoracic care. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac surgery services, transplant programs, and advanced critical care with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support. The hospital maintains intensivist coverage during days with on-call availability at night, and offers complex procedures including ECMO, IABP, and various cardiac interventions with a focus on providing exceptional critical care services.
