3D Imaging Technologist – Banner Health
Location:
Banner University Medical Center – 1111 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ
Hours:
Mon‑Fri 8a‑4:30p
Work Shift:

- Required Skills:
- Proficiency in CT and/or MRI imaging
- Hands‑on experience with 3D post‑processing workflows
- ARRT credential required
- Training:
- Minimum of one year of in‑house training to master systems and protocols
- Work Arrangement:
- After training, a hybrid schedule may be available
- Position is not fully remote
Position Summary:
Operates 3D imaging workstations, manages transfer of imaging data, and manipulates digital medical images for clinical visualization and analysis of diagnostic radiology studies. Provides essential support to the radiology department and assists in instruction of physicians and technologists in 3D lab applications.
- Prepare diagnostic images for visualization and quantification, assist with quantitative measurements when indicated. Operate 3D imaging workstations and their software for the preparation of imaging data. Select, extract, reformat, and de‑identify images as needed. Ensure networked transfer of images to appropriate workstations and PACS systems.
- Learn additional computer systems to manipulate digital medical images for clinical visualization and analysis.
- Recognize scan artifacts and abnormal anatomy/pathology important for 3D visualization.
- Collaborate with radiologic technologists in CT and MRI to ensure appropriateness of scanning protocols for 3D imaging.
- Identify and demonstrate pathology and normal anatomical variants in post‑processed images.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other clinicians to ensure the post‑processed images have maximal clinical value.
- Contribute to design of new data acquisition protocols when appropriate.
- Transfer 3D lab images onto hard copy at the request of physicians.
- Learn about, and may participate in, the generation of surface mesh files for 3D printing and virtual/augmented reality.
- Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited radiologic technology program or a two‑year degree.
- National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or modality qualified licensure including NMTCB, ARMRIT, or equivalent knowledge in cross‑sectional anatomy and digital image manipulation.
- Two or more years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in cross‑sectional imaging using CT and/or MRI is required.
- Advanced training in anatomy as demonstrated by CT and MRI.
