Responsibilities


Job Summary

Evaluates nutritional risk, assesses nutritional status, and develops and implements evidence-based nutrition care plans. Documents outcomes and supports progress toward nutrition goals. Reviews current research and adapts findings to practice and patient education materials.

  • Reviews nutrition screening reports and identifies patients at nutritional risk.
  • Performs nutritional assessments using evidence-based guidelines.
  • Monitors patient outcomes and revises care plans as needed.
  • Serves as a nutrition resource for physicians, departments, and programs.
  • Prepares documentation for medical records in line with guidelines.
  • Develops and implements nutrition protocols and educational materials.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides individualized nutrition education to patients and families.
  • Adapts to changes and performs duties as needed.
Qualifications

Education
Master's Degree as required by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (effective Jan. 1, 2024) or a bachelor’s degree grandfathered prior to this update. Required.

Experience
None required.

Licenses and Certifications
Registered Dietitian (RD) with current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration. Required upon hire.
