The Department of Pharmacy employs approximately 140 employees; with a 1:1 ratio of pharmacists/technicians. The mission of our department is to promote positive patient outcomes by providing safe, high-quality, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care to all patients, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and to advance pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical knowledge through education, research, and innovation.
Acute Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and progressive pharmacy services to our diverse patient population in both acute and ambulatory care settings. Our clinical services include a multitude of specialties, including critical care, internal medicine, cardiology, research, and solid organ transplant. As BUMC-P is an academic teaching center you will be a part of the training for medical residents, nursing students, pharmacy residents and students.
Our robust operations and technologies include automated dispensing cabinets, automated carousel, and new sterile and non-sterile compounding rooms.
This is a night shift position working a 7 day on 7 day off rotation, Wednesday-Tuesday, from 8:30pm-7:00am (10-hour shifts). Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. Schedule subject to change based on business needs. This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. This position is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. Oversees the activities of pharmacy technicians and interns, coordinating workflow and approving medications prior to being dispensed. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served.
Must assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements and provide pharmaceutical care based on those needs. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of pharmacy practice.
